The princesses also spent time in a famous miniature playhouse that was originally given by the people of Wales to the late Queen Elizabeth II for her sixth birthday in 1932.
The custom-built cottage remained a favorite destination for the younger generations of the royal family.
During the 2012 documentary The Diamond QueenBeatrice gave presenter Andrew Marr a tour of the historic building and reflected on its significance.
She said: “Grandma and her sister played here growing up, and they were lucky enough to play here, and cousins and second cousins. It was a great family treat.”
Beatrice added: ‘It’s the most glamorous Wendy house ever, and it’s absolutely beautiful. And what you see now is after a year of renovation. It’s actually spruced up a bit.”
She later explained that younger royal family members still enjoyed the playhouse.
Beatrice commented: ‘I understand now that (Queen Elizabeth) likes to come back and visit, and it’s great that, for example, we can now have Grandma a great-grandmother, so we can now have Savannah (Phillips – Elizabeth’s eldest great-grandchild) come and play here too, and her other great-grandchildren.’
