A new era of luxury: Etihad’s celebrated A380 debut in Tokyo | News

Etihad Airways has celebrated the maiden flight of its iconic Airbus A380 to Japan, which landed at Tokyo’s Narita International Airport on June 18. The arrival marks a milestone for the airline, as the famous double-decker now flies daily between the two capitals.

The aircraft offers expanded capacity on the route, in addition to an increased premium offering. Featuring four different cabins, the A380 introduces The Residence to the Japanese market for the first time, allowing travelers flying to and from Tokyo to experience the pinnacle of luxury commercial aviation.

Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, Etihad Airways, said: “Tokyo has long held a special place in the hearts of our guests, and today we are proud to meet that affection with a truly extraordinary aircraft. The introduction of the A380 reinforces our commitment to the Japanese market and meets the robust demand for premium travel connecting Abu Dhabi and Tokyo.

“With this route, we return our eighth A380 to the fleet, further expanding our operations and premium offering. Whether we fly in Economy, Business, First or The Residence, we promise a high-quality, unforgettable journey for our guests.”

The increased capacity improves connectivity for a greater number of Japanese visitors to explore Abu Dhabi or travel further afield via Etihad’s broad global network. Those transiting can enjoy a seamless airport experience or take advantage of a free hotel stay with Etihad’s Abu Dhabi Stopover program.
