Accor and Yavu Collective sign milestone agreement for multiple hotels in Fiji | News

Accor, the largest hospitality group in the Pacific region, and Yavu Collective, a Fijian-owned investment and development group, today announced a landmark agreement that will see three distinctive hotels in Fiji join Accor’s global network. This marks an important milestone for the destination and reinforces the Group’s continued momentum in the Pacific.
By bringing Sofitel, The Sebel and TRIBE together within a single, integrated destination, the signing builds on a long-standing relationship between Accor and Yavu Collective, which began with the opening of Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa in 2005. Today, that trusted partnership continues to evolve and reflects a shared commitment to thoughtful development, design-led experiences and meaningful cultural connections.
Central to the development is Sofitel’s second address in Fiji. Opening in early 2027 on Denarau Island, Sofitel Fiji Vatu Talei is designed as a designer resort where French art de vivre and the richness of Fijian culture come together. Spanning 10 hectares, the property reinterprets the destination with a bold architectural vision shaped by the element wai (water), from expansive lagoons and a winding lazy river to a rooftop infinity pool and a serene adults-only retreat. In the 176 rooms, the interior is based on local stories such as the vonu and the Sleeping Giant, creating spaces that invite rest, reflection and connection with the place. A curated mix of dining options, cultural experiences and carefully integrated leisure elements completes a refined, immersive resort experience grounded in storytelling and a strong sense of place.
David Fraser, Vice President Operations – Sofitel Legend, Sofitel, MGallery & Emblems, Accor Pacific, said: “The Pacific is a strategic market for Sofitel, representing almost 50% of our most loyal guests globally. Our commitment here is strong, underlined by the renovations at Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, planned renovations for Sofitel Queenstown and Sofitel Broadbeach, and the continued evolution in Fiji with Sofitel Vatu Talei. Sofitel Vatu Designed to reflect Sofitel’s elegance and rich Fijian culture, Talei is a highly considered addition that perfectly aligns with our vision for luxury resort experiences in key destinations.”
In addition to Sofitel, the partnership will introduce two new brands to Fiji. In August 2026, The Sebel Nuku Loaloa Living will debut its extended stay accommodation in Fiji. Located in Wailoaloa, Nadi, the property will feature 76 fully self-contained apartments and villas, ranging from one and two-bedroom homes to expansive three-bedroom villas with private outdoor terraces. Each space is designed to provide the convenience of home with the comfort of hotel services, combining modern interiors with subtle Fijian accents. A restaurant and bar serving fresh, local flavors complement an extensive recreation and wellness center, featuring a 25-meter swimming pool, gym, yoga studio, sauna, spa and pickleball court. Guests will also enjoy seamless access to the Denarau Island resort area via a complimentary shuttle service.
TRIBE, Accor’s design-led, socially driven brand, will make its Fijian debut with TRIBE Na Tomba, opening on Denarau Island in late 2026. Designed as a contemporary center where design, culture and connection converge, the hotel will offer 118 rooms in a range of flexible configurations, from cozy king-size rooms to spacious two-bedroom apartments. Guests can expect lively dining options, a lively pool bar, two swimming pools, a 24/7 fitness center and an array of communal areas.
Together, the three hotel projects herald a new era for Fiji’s hospitality landscape, where locally developed destinations are elevated by global expertise, while remaining deeply rooted in culture and community.
“This partnership with Yavu Collective represents a defining moment for Accor in the Pacific,” said Adrian Williams, Chief Operating Officer of Accor in the Pacific. “Fiji continues to go from strength to strength as one of the most sought-after destinations in the Pacific region, especially for Australian and New Zealand travelers, drawn by its natural beauty, rich culture and warm hospitality. Bringing these brands together in one destination through a single, trusted partner reflects both the strength of our relationship and our shared vision for Fiji’s future as a globally recognized, experience-based tourism destination. Each brand has been carefully selected to play a distinctive role, from Sofitel as a culturally immersive luxury anchor to TRIBE with its irrepressible social atmosphere, and The Sebel as a sophisticated, stylish place for an extended stay.”
Vincent Macquet, Chief Executive Officer of Yavu Collective, said: “Our journey with Accor has spanned two decades and this next phase reflects our shared belief in creating destinations that are both globally relevant and deeply rooted in Fiji. As a local company, we are committed to developing hospitality experiences that celebrate culture, support communities and contribute to the country’s long-term prosperity. Together with Accor, we are proud to bring these projects to life and continue to shape the future of tourism in Fiji.”
Yavu Collective, a Fiji registered company owned by BSP Life and Fiji Airways, continues to play a leading role in shaping the country’s tourism landscape. By 2027, the group will operate five resorts in Viti Levu, employing more than 1,300 people locally and contributing to the development of culturally grounded, design-led destinations.
Looking ahead, Accor and Yavu Collective will continue to explore further opportunities to work together, building on a partnership defined by shared values, a long-term vision and a commitment to delivering meaningful hospitality experiences.
