TripWorks achieves OCTO certification | News

TripWorks, the AI and business intelligence-powered booking and automation platform for tours, activities and attractions, today announced that it has achieved full OCTO certification. The certification confirms that TripWorks meets the open connectivity standard maintained by OCTO (Open Connectivity for Tours and Activity), the global non-profit organization that provides a shared API framework for the destination experience industry.

The announcement comes on the heels of OCTO’s recently launched AI Advisory Board, a cross-industry group created to guide how the industry approaches AI standards, adoption and innovation. The creation of the board underscores the rapid shift toward AI-driven distribution and the need for shared frameworks that help operators and technology providers keep pace.

For TripWorks, the OCTO certification is both a technical milestone and a strategic signal. As operators adopt AI at record speed, the ability to cleanly and consistently connect between distributors, marketplaces and technology partners has become essential infrastructure.
“AI accelerates every part of the booking journey, from pricing and forecasting to customer engagement,” said Aaron Fessler, founder and CEO of TripWorks. “But AI only works when the data behind it is structured, reliable and connected. OCTO certification ensures our operators benefit from a modern, standardized approach to connectivity that supports the next generation of AI and BI-powered tools.”

TripWorks, which recently secured $6 million in Series A funding, is rapidly emerging as a next-generation alternative to legacy reservation systems, embedding AI and BI into the entire operational workflow. The platform offers predictive pricing recommendations, demand forecasting, automated customer messaging, abandoned cart recovery, OTA channel management, and advanced analytics dashboards. OCTO certification strengthens TripWorks’ ability to deliver these capabilities at scale by reducing the integration burden for operators and partners.

OCTO Executive Director Robin Harnish recently emphasized the importance of industry alignment as AI adoption accelerates: “AI is changing the way systems connect, how developers work, and how travelers interact with experiences. [OCTO provides] a structured way to explore those opportunities and challenges with the people closest to the technology and the industry.”

TripWorks’ certification supports OCTO’s mission by ensuring operators using the platform can fully participate in an increasingly interconnected ecosystem.

TripWorks will continue to expand its AI and BI capabilities following its recent Series A funding round, which supports new investments in pricing intelligence, analytics, global integrations and market expansion. TripWorks certification has been independently verified through OCTO’s official registry,
