SEABOURN QUEST EMERGES FROM DRY DOCK WITH REDESIGNED SPACES AND A MORE REFINED ONBOARD EXPERIENCE | News

Seabourn’s award-winning Seabourn Quest has emerged from dry dock with the most extensive interior update in the line’s history. Enhancements to the suites, public areas, dining options and spa provide a more relaxing and refined experience on board, further enhancing the sense of comfort and understated luxury that guests know and love.

The ship will continue its Mediterranean season through November 2026, sailing a series of immersive seven-day voyages between Dubrovnik, Fusina (Venice), Istanbul and Athens, visiting marinas and islands in Croatia, Greece, Montenegro and Turkey. Each trip can be combined to create 14 and 21 day sailings.

“This dry dock represents an investment that reflects our relentless focus on improving every aspect of the guest experience,” said Mark Tamis, president of Seabourn. “Seabourn Quest has always had a loyal following and we wanted to enhance the areas where our guests spend their time on board, from the feel of their suite to the atmosphere of The Club in the evening, to ensure they have the best experience at sea when sailing on this beautiful ship.”

Redesigned public spaces
The Club underwent one of the most significant transformations onboard, with a sophisticated speakeasy-inspired atmosphere, a reconfigured layout, a refreshed bar design and new lighting that reshapes the way the space is experienced throughout the evening.

The redesigned layout creates a more cohesive atmosphere for live music and social gatherings, while also improving flow through the venue, allowing guests to move naturally between the bar, lounge seating and dance floor.

Throughout the rest of the ship, public areas have been updated to improve flow and atmosphere, making it easier for guests to move naturally through the ship, settle in and enjoy every part of the day. The atrium, corridors and stairwells were given new carpeting, with patterns inspired by the organic movement of water. The large pool deck debuts with an all-new sound system and lighting, surrounded by a renovated teak deck.

Seabourn Square now has a warmer living room atmosphere, with new furnishings and limited bistro-style seating. The Observation Bar was given a refresh with updated carpet and furnishings, creating a brighter, more relaxing environment with panoramic views. The Spa was expanded to include a redesigned reception area, all new fitness equipment and an updated salon, including new finishes, lighting and furnishings, creating a more serene, soothing environment that deepens the sense of relaxation and well-being.

The onboard stores have also been expanded with updated finishes, lighting and display elements, providing a more inviting atmosphere for guests to browse and discover curated pieces. These updates are in line with recent upgrades to the Seabourn ocean fleet.

Improved dining options
The Colonnade was refreshed with new floors, carpeting, chairs and a new service line to draw attention to live cooking. In The Restaurant, new carpets and curtains provide a lighter and more modern feel, enhancing the overall atmosphere and maintaining the sophisticated look of the venue.

Renewed suites and accommodations
Suites in all categories received new mattresses and plush new wool carpeting, while Penthouse and Premium Suites also received updated veranda furniture, creating a more inviting space to relax and enjoy the views.

Design approach
Together, these updates reflect an evolved design approach that gives Seabourn Quest a more residential and personal feel. Drawing from the textures and tones of the places Seabourn explores, the interiors feature layered materials and finishes that create a cohesive environment and enhance the way guests move through and experience each space.

“Our goal was to create spaces that feel natural, intuitive and effortlessly comfortable for guests,” said Linh Nguyen, Senior Manager, Interior Design & Assets Management. “Rather than referencing a single destination, the design takes a broader approach, using materiality and scale to shape spaces that are balanced, familiar and easy to experience.”

Integrating sustainable practices
In addition to increased design updates, meaningful steps have been taken to reduce waste and extend the life of materials on board. More than 20,000 square meters of carpet was replaced. All of the original carpet has been diverted from the landfill and is expected to be reused in new carpet padding that the shipyard will integrate back on board for a future Seabourn renovation. The updated suites now feature biodegradable Cradle to Cradle Dansk Wilton wool carpet to further support a closed life cycle approach. In addition, all mattresses were dismantled for recycling by the shipyard, while the lounge furniture was donated to a local Italian non-profit organization, extending the life of these materials, diverting them from landfill and benefiting the surrounding communities.

A continuous investment in the fleet
The 2026 drydock builds on previous improvement cycles and represents the most extensive interior investment in Seabourn history. The scope of work also included updates to crew areas, amenities and accommodations, supporting the onboard team that delivers the personalized service at the heart of the Seabourn experience.

For guests who want to experience these updates aboard Seabourn Quest, Seabourn’s Exploration Event offers savings of up to 15 percent on select summer ocean and expedition voyages. Seabourn is also offering up to $1,000 in onboard credit per suite on select winter voyages.
