A NEW ERA OF ALPINE LUXURY DEBUNT AT FAIRMONT JASPER PARK LODGE | News

Today, Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge is proud to announce the historic opening of its redesigned resort with the unveiling of an extensive CAD $100 million transformation across the entire property. This marks much more than a reopening, but the arrival of a new expression of wilderness luxury in the Canadian Rockies, brought to life by a revamped Main Lodge and completely redesigned guestrooms. Set within 700 hectares of pristine wilderness in Jasper National Park, the extraordinary destination offers a luxurious sense of space and seclusion that is increasingly rare in today’s travel experiences. With each cabin door opening directly to the expansive outdoor area, the property offers unparalleled access to the secluded landscape and a highly personalized experience with nature. Guests are invited to explore Jasper through a lens of deep connection, slow discovery and immersive wellness, guided by Fairmont’s Wellness Without Walls philosophy that recognizes nature as a powerful approach to recovery.

“There’s something very restorative about arriving in Jasper,” says resort general manager Garrett Turta. “I remember one of my son’s first memories of the Lodge was getting out of the car, taking a deep breath and saying, ‘It smells like Jasper.’ It’s more than just the scent of pine and cedar wood carried in the mountain air, it’s the warmth of a fireplace, the immediate feeling of familiarity and comfort here, as if you’ve returned to something you didn’t know you’d missed. At Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, luxury has always been less about excess and more about what people rediscover while they are here: time together, space to breathe, connection with nature and a slower pace of life. This new chapter builds on that feeling and creates a resort experience that is both deeply connected to memory and entirely new to discover.”

The adventure begins upon arrival

At the heart of the transformation is a redesigned Main Lodge and arrival experience that draws inspiration from Jasper’s skies, forests and glacial landscapes, inviting guests to begin their Jasper experience with purpose. The redesigned lobby welcomes guests to a space that feels both heavenly and grounded in nature – an immersive introduction that sets the tone for a stay marked by connection, restoration and awe. Guests can also enjoy scenic panoramic views of Lac Beauvert and Whistlers Mountain upon arrival by stepping onto the iconic new lakeside patio.

The boardwalk is anchored by Embark Outpost + Provisions, a thoughtfully redesigned retail and adventure center designed as a starting point for each day’s journey. Here, guests can book guided experiences through the Adventure Concierge, prepare for outdoor excursions, enjoy locally roasted coffee and snacks, and discover artisanal products inspired by the region. The nearby home base for the resort’s Camp JPL Adventure Club – debuting in late summer – will be a vibrant base camp for young explorers and their families, with fully supervised programs for children ages 5 to 12. From nature walks and wilderness skills to creative play and immersive storytelling, the space is designed to spark imaginations and give children the opportunity to wander, explore and forge a deeper connection with the natural environment. Parents can enjoy the rare luxury of time to relax or explore the property at their leisure. Thoughtful touches, from adventurous lunches to souvenirs, ensure that a family holiday becomes a tradition that deepens with each return.

Located in its iconic wilderness setting, Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge will remain a special destination – for the community and for visitors.”

This is the latest in a series of investments by owner Oxford Properties in Canada, where the company has committed more than $2 billion since 2025.

Purposeful spaces to share moments of connection

More than 330 of the 397 rooms, suites and Signature Cabins have been updated and redesigned to help you spend time meaningfully. Alpine chic interiors balance modern comfort with the warmth and character of the Lodge’s history, while the layouts prioritize privacy without separation, providing space to gather, retreat and reconnect at your own pace. Throughout the resort, accommodations have been carefully redesigned to reflect the landscape beyond the windows. Blue tones inspired by glacial lakes and open skies combine with organic textures, carved wood details and refined Fairmont accents that elevate the experience while maintaining a deep sense of place. The spaces feel both worldly and distinctly Jasper: a tranquil expression of luxury immersed in nature, with each cabin door opening to a private, effortless connection to the vast wilderness that awaits at your doorstep.

The Lodge’s iconic Signature Cabins, including historic and legendary retreats such as Outlook Cabin and Point Cabin, remain the heart of this experience. Long celebrated as places where families, friends and groups gather, these legendary cabins are ideally suited for multi-generational stays, milestone celebrations and private retreats – whether personal escapes or professionally organized gatherings. Expansive living areas set the stage for high-end cabin experiences, from fireside dining and guided stargazing to customized wellness rituals, transforming the time we spend together into living memories that last long after the stay.

Flavors of jasper, interpreted by light, wood and fire

As part of the next chapter, the resort is introducing a collection of story-driven, signature dining experiences shaped by the landscape, seasons and untold stories of Jasper National Park. In these three distinctive signature eateries, inspiration is drawn from the region’s ever-changing skies, surrounding forests and elemental contrasts. These culinary destinations invite guests to engage in gastronomic journeys that celebrate elevated local ingredients, inventive preservation, zero-waste techniques and attentive service, where every meal feels both rooted and exploratory.

Located in the former Emerald Lounge in the Main Lodge, Lume is inspired by the ever-changing light that defines Jasper, from gentle valley sunrises to the depths of Dark Sky evenings. Garden-centric menus, vibrant cocktails and a space that subtly transitions throughout the day create an atmosphere that feels relaxed yet refined: an indoor extension of the grand landscape just beyond the windows.

Elderwood transforms the former Great Hall into a warm dining room with a wooden frame, inspired by the surrounding forests. Under tall beams and rich wood textures, guests gather to enjoy seasonal, regionally inspired dishes and shareable plates designed for every occasion – from a lavish family breakfast to festive dinners that bring generations together.

Named after the nearby Barbican Pass, The Barbicon offers a contemporary interpretation of the classic mountain steakhouse. Anchored by the Main Lodge’s original Tyndall stone fireplace, the space leans on ancient ingredients, inventive conservation and slow-crafted techniques, setting the stage for elevated menu offerings designed to be enjoyed over time.

Expressions of well-being through nature

The transformation further cements Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge as a place where wellness lives beyond four walls and unfolds organically in nature and the fundamental cadence of mountain life. Immersive wellness experiences invite family and friends to reconnect through moments of rest and restoration, including the Glacial Plunge & Sauna Journey on the shores of Lac Beauvert. Based on thermal contrast, local botanicals and guided mindfulness, these rituals provide a profound way to reset, reflect and re-emerge, attuned to nature and in sync with the breath.

Adventure remains equally integral to the Lodge’s spirit, with experiences throughout the season encouraging discovery at every comfort level. As a gateway to hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking, skiing and carefully curated ecotours, the resort makes discovery both accessible and inspiring. Located in one of the world’s most celebrated Dark Sky Preserves, Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge also expands its astronomical and indigenous storytelling experiences, inviting guests to gather under unobstructed skies for guided stargazing, and fireside lingering and foraging moments that weave together land, sky and story in deeply memorable ways.

Enduring traditions, played on the greens and celebrated throughout the seasons

In addition to the accommodations, Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge remains a place where tradition thrives and moments with family and friends are marked in meaningful ways – whether through sports, games or festivities. The resort’s iconic Stanley Thompson-designed golf course has undergone a meticulous restoration, maintaining both its strategic brilliance and its status as one of Canada’s best courses. The repositioned resort has gone from courts to courts, adding new pickleball courts and a playground to the wide range of existing amenities. Throughout the year, the resort also brings to life the spirit of gathering through a calendar of signature events and seasonal celebrations, including the long-awaited return of beloved festive traditions such as Christmas in November, inviting guests to come together, create their own rituals and experience the Lodge at its most joyful.
