King Charles planned valuable jewelry gifts for Queen Camilla

King Charles is on a very personal mission to shower Queen Camilla with priceless royal jewels in what insiders tell us will be a highly symbolic ‘death gift’ from the cancer-fighting monarch.
If RadarOnline.com Reports say Charles, 77, has continued to perform royal duties while undergoing treatment for cancer following his diagnosis earlier this year, but palace insiders told us the king has become increasingly sentimental about preserving his relationship with Camilla, 78, via priceless heirlooms linked to their decades-long romance.
According to royal sources, one of the most valuable pieces Charles ever gifted to Camilla is the Keppel Tiara – a diamond and ruby creation directly linked to their royal ancestors and famously linked to one of Britain’s most infamous royal love affairs.
A palace aide said: ‘Since being diagnosed with cancer, Charles has become much more emotional and introspective about the people and possessions that matter most to him, and he is now on a mission to purchase the entire Keppel jewelry set, as well as other priceless artefacts, as a great gift for Camilla.
“Those around him believe these jewels go much deeper than extravagant royal gifts – they are deeply personal declarations of love and lasting devotion to Camilla, wrapped in royal history and symbolism.”
The insider added: “Behind the palace walls are aides who quietly refer to the pieces as Charles’ ‘death gifts’ as there is a clear sense that he wants to secure Camilla’s place within the monarchy long after he is gone. He is determined that she will always be seen not just as his wife, but as a central part of the legacy and emotional story he leaves behind as king.
“Charles has become acutely aware of mortality during his illness, and it has changed the way he thinks about legacy, family and sustainability. The jewelry he has given Camilla is seen by some in the household almost as an emotional insurance policy: valuable heirlooms with enormous sentimental weight.
“For Charles, these gifts are about much more than just status or wealth. They are symbolic reminders of their decades together, the sacrifices they both endured and his desire to ensure that Camilla remains protected and historically intertwined with his reign for generations to come.”
The Keppel Tiara, reportedly valued at around $44,000, was originally owned by Alice Keppel – Camilla’s great-great-grandmother and the long-time mistress of King Edward VII, Charles’ great-great-grandfather.
The tiara, made of gold and platinum with diamonds and synthetic rubies, was purchased by Edward in Paris in the early 20th century and later became one of Camilla’s favorite pieces.
Royal insiders said Charles has long appreciated the historical parallels between Edward VII and Alice Keppel’s relationship and his own controversial romance with Camilla, which continued through his marriage to Diana, Princess of Wales, who died in 1997 aged 36.
Another source said: “Charles sees the Keppel jewels as much more than historical accessories – for him they are intensely romantic symbols tied to a love story that has survived decades of scandal, divorce and public criticism. He is now deeply aware of his mortality and there is a growing determination to put together a collection of meaningful heirlooms for Camilla while he still has the chance.
“Those close to the king believe that he privately believes Camilla will outlive him, making these gifts feel even more emotionally charged. He wants her surrounded by pieces that reflect their relationship and his commitment to her after he’s gone.
“Charles always regarded Camilla as the only person he was truly meant to be with. These jewels become his personal tribute to that belief – tangible reminders of a relationship he fought for most of his adult life.
“There is also a sentimental fascination for Charles in the parallels between his romance with Camilla and the royal affair linked to Alice Keppel and Edward VII. He sees those Keppel jewels almost as artefacts of an enduring forbidden love, and he wants Camilla to inherit that sense of history, permanence and emotional significance associated with them.”
According to experts, the combination of diamonds and rubies in jewelry traditionally symbolizes lasting love.
Charles and Camilla first met in the early 1970s and dated before both marrying other partners. Charles married Diana in 1981, while Camilla married Andrew Parker Bowles.
Their relationship lasted privately for years before both marriages ended in divorce in the 1990s.
The couple finally made their public debut together in 1999 before marrying in 2005.
