King Charles’ ‘unbreakable’ meal rule revealed

According to Queen Camilla’s son, Tom Parker Bowles, 51, Charles’ dedication to these causes extends far beyond public speeches and charity initiatives, to the daily routines of royal life.
From meals served at home to using up leftovers, Charles is said to insist that food is reused rather than thrown away wherever possible.
Speaking about the king’s attitude to waste, Tom revealed how seriously Charles takes the issue. He said: “There is no waste – everything is recycled, everything is used off the table.
“If there is anything left over from dinner, it is turned into something else or reappeared the next day. Nothing should be thrown away.”
A royal source said the policy reflected Charles’s deeply held beliefs and not any concern about costs.
The insider added: “Some people may look at it and jokingly say that this makes Charles the stingiest monarch in history, but from Charles’ perspective it has nothing to do with saving money. He really doesn’t like waste and believes throwing away perfectly good food is unnecessary.
“This is one of the few house rules that has remained absolutely consistent over the years. Whether for a formal dinner or a private meal, the expectation is that leftovers will be reused wherever possible.”
