Icelandair flies to Venice | News

On May 22, 2026, Icelandair opened direct flights to Venice, Italy, from its hub in Reykjavik, marking the airline’s expansion into one of Europe’s most coveted destinations. The new route to Venice Marco Polo Airport reflects the airline’s strategic commitment to expand its European network and connect travelers to world-famous cities.
Icelandair will operate three weekly flights between Reykjavík and Venice until October 18, 2026, with departures scheduled on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The flights will be operated by a 737-MAX8 aircraft.
Venice joins Rome, Milan and Verona as Icelandair’s fourth Italian destination, offering seamless access to the enchanting canals, Gothic palaces and artistic treasures of one of the world’s most celebrated destinations.
Since the route was announced, it has already proven incredibly popular with passengers, with strong inbound and outbound bookings.

Icelandair’s Keflavík hub, halfway between North America and Europe, provides a seamless gateway for travelers traveling to Italy or from there to North America, without having to pass through a major European airport.
Icelandair’s Stopover Program allows passengers to break their trip in Iceland for up to seven days without additional airfare, turning their trip into a dual-destination experience. Travelers from both Venice and North America can explore Iceland’s dramatic landscapes – waterfalls, geothermal lagoons and black sand beaches – before continuing to their final destinations.
