“The President of the United States just posted this. Do you think he’s lost it?’ read the caption.
But the commander in chief predictably wasted no time in hitting back, sharing an image of a mock California license plate reading “NEW-SCM,” with Newsom depicted in the center in a zombie-like state.
The post was viewed more than 135,000 times after Newsom’s press office reposted the dig, writing, “Even a Zombie Newscum still looks healthier than our current President. #PrayersforGrandpa.”
The online feud is just the latest in a long-running war of words between the two political heavyweights.

In January, Trump labeled Newsom a “lame duck” who “mobbed” himself on the world stage at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
Trump accused Newsom of prioritizing international attention as California continued to battle crime, drought and wildfire devastation.
Trump shouted: “He should finish his monstrous ‘over budget and behind schedule’ rail line, from San Francisco to LA, one of the biggest public disasters in history, and focus on stopping crime on the streets of California cities – then finish his term, and GO HOME!”
The White House also previously said Newsom must “stop undermining the United States on the world stage” and focus on repairing his “broken” home state.
Newsom, meanwhile, has continued to fire back, with his press office calling Trump a “deranged habitual liar” and mocking his “pinky fingers” after the president launched a fraud investigation into California.

In March, the governor accused the president of not caring about the American troops killed in the military strikes.
Speaking at the Wilshire Ebell Theater in Los Angeles, Newsom claimed that Trump cares more about his new curtains in the White House than dead soldiers.
On Monday, March 2, during a ceremony honoring three Army soldiers, Trump quickly became distracted and instead focused on the interior of the East Wing of the White House.
“You see that beautiful curtain? When that comes down, you will see a very, very deep hole now, but in about a year and a half you will see a very, very beautiful building,” the 79-year-old boasted.
He added, “And there is your entrance,” pointing to the golden curtains behind him.

“I even think I’m going to save money on the doors, because you can’t get anything nicer than that,” Trump continued. ‘I chose those curtains during my first semester. I’ve always loved gold, but I think we can save a lot of money. I only kept curtains.”
Trump, still in love with his gold curtains, added: “It will be spectacular, it will be the most beautiful ballroom. I believe it’s because I’ve built many a ballroom. I believe it will be the most beautiful ballroom in the world…’
The controversial politician’s tirade left rival Newsom feeling sick as he responded: “He mentioned (the soldiers) in passing and then mentioned in detail the curtains and the Imperial Palace in the East Wing that he is building.”

Newsom accused Trump of not having a clear plan against Iran.
Newsom suggested the moment “struck the core of who (Trump) is” and revealed the president has no clear plan for moving forward in Iran.
“I hope it dawns on everyone. He had no plan, no strategy,” Newsom added during the call on Tuesday, March 3.
Just a day earlier, he had bumped into his rival at a press conference, furious: “Four service members died today, and Donald Trump has spent more time talking about his ballroom than the loss of those lives.” Watch the tape.’
