Hayden Panettiere reveals traumatic sexual demand from famous man at age 18

“You write about a moment in your career when a friend of yours takes you out on a boat. You are led into a room with an older man in it and then you are basically told to perform sexual acts,” Shetty told the actress.

Panettiere, who has been acting since she was a child, admitted that she thought she knew it all at the age of 18, when her fame reached the stratosphere after playing Claire Bennet in Heroesstarring in 2006 at the age of 16.

“Even though I had lived such a big life, I thought I was oh so grown up at 18. Scientifically, you know our frontal lobes don’t develop until we’re a little bit, 25, 26, so even though I felt like I could make healthy decisions, safe decisions, I wasn’t able to be fully aware of what was going on around me,” she explained.

“And it wasn’t until I found myself in a difficult situation that I realized that my perspective had completely changed and I realized that I was in danger,” she continued. “But by the time I realized I was in danger, I was literally at sea.”

Pantettiere said she “had a great time” aboard the boat, and that there was “no indication that anything like this would happen” until she was “literally walked out on to a predator” by a woman she deeply trusted.

“I was shocked. It surprised me,” says the Amanda Knox star said about how quickly things changed.

“I was led by someone who I had come to trust and see as a protector and someone who had my back, and I was walked down the stairs, and it was presented as if it was a surprise,” Panettiere described.

“It was a very small room, and she physically placed me in bed next to this unclothed man, who was very famous, and had his hands like this,” she recalled, putting her hands behind her head to mimic his position.

“Like this was just an average day for him, and this is something that happens all the time,” she said of the creep before waiting for her “protector” to leave.

Panettiere recalled how, once she was alone with the man, a “fire” ignited inside her, her hair “stood on end” and “I became furious,” determined not to become a victim.

“I thought, ‘This isn’t happening.’ But I had nowhere to hide. And I took off, and I hid wherever I could think of to hide on a boat,” she continued, adding that there was “no jumping and swimming away.”

Panettiere came to the heartbreaking realization that “there was no one who would have empathy for my situation, that this was nothing new to them,” about the perverted adults on the boat.

“It’s such a horrific event to experience and find yourself in that position at the age of 18, and disappointing when someone lets you down like that,” the spokesperson said. Scream VI star famous.
