Hantavirus risk to Americans ‘very low’

US health officials held a press conference after 18 Americans were flown to Nebraska and Georgia from the MV Hondius cruise ship, where one American tested positive for hantavirus. Authorities stressed that the risk to the public is “very, very low”. Currently, more than 90 passengers of the MV Hondius ship, docked in Spain’s Canary Islands, are being repatriated to their home countries.
