Princess Diana’s childhood home is located near King Charles’ estate

In 2019, the Leonard Cheshire charity announced plans for a $3.1 million redevelopment project aimed at modernizing the property and securing its future.
But the plans were ultimately abandoned due to the financial and logistical pressures created by the pandemic.
The charity confirmed the closure, saying: “Since the original plan in September 2019, which detailed an agreement to spend £2.3 million ($3.1 million) on the redevelopment of Park House – and fund the same amount for further investment – cash resources and fundraising have understandably shifted in response to the pandemic.
The organization added: “We cannot therefore justify that expenditure given the current barriers faced by people with disabilities around the world, and coupled with the ongoing uncertainty surrounding Covid-19 and the impact on our work, it has been proposed to halt the redevelopment and work with Sandringham Estate to terminate the lease.”
Photos have shown that the once celebrated property has been seriously neglected.
Images show overgrown lawns surrounding the building, while parts of the exterior showed peeling paint, stained brickwork and damaged outbuildings, including a shed with a partially collapsed roof.
Locals familiar with the area fear the property could continue to deteriorate unless a long-term restoration plan is put in place for one of the most emotionally significant homes linked to Diana’s life.
