‘Going Dutch’ canceled after two seasons on Fox

Fox has canceled the comedy series ‘Going Dutch’ Variety has learned.

The series aired for two seasons on the broadcaster, with the most recent season starting in January 2026 and the now series finale airing on April 23. Denis Leary led the cast, which also included Taylor Misiak, Danny Pudi, Laci Mosely, Hal Cumpston, Joe Morton, Catherine Tate and Kristen Johnston.

News of the cancellation comes just over a week before Fox’s presentation to advertisers in New York, where the network will outline their plans for the 2026-2027 broadcast season. They’ve already made decisions on most of their limited scripted lineup, including renewals for shows like “Doc,” “Best Medicine” and “Memory of a Killer.”

In live-action comedy, the Joel McHale sitcom “Animal Control” was renewed for a fifth season earlier this year. At the time of publication, it is currently the only live-action comedy on the Fox slate.

And of course, Fox’s Animation Domination block – including ‘The Simpsons’, ‘Bob’s Burgers’, ‘Family Guy’ and ‘American Dad’ – are all returning as well.

Fox has largely moved away from scripted programming in recent years, focusing instead on a wide variety of unscripted formats and game shows. To that end, the network just greenlit a new dating show called “The Marriage Market,” hosted by Whitney Cummings for next season.

The official logline for “Going Dutch” read:

Arrogant, loudmouthed U.S. Army Colonel Patrick Quinn (Leary) – after an epically unfiltered tirade – is transferred to the Netherlands, where he is punished with a command position at the least strategic army base in the world, notable for its Michelin-star commissary, top-notch bowling alley, lavender-infused laundrette, and the best (and only) fromagerie in the U.S. Armed Forces. Surrounded by a diverse group of military misfits, the Colonel attempts to restore discipline and professionalism with the help from the base’s previous interim leader, who happens to be his estranged daughter (Misiak).”
