Megyn Kelly fires Trump over a now-deleted photo of him as Jesus Christ

Other prominent conservative voices also publicly condemned the post. Marjorie Taylor Greene denounced the AI-generated image in a statement on social media, arguing it went far beyond a simple insult.

“It is more than blasphemy. It is an anti-Christian spirit,” she wrote.

Greene also linked it to Trump’s recent online activities, claiming: “This comes on the heels of last week’s post about his evil Easter tirade and when he threatened to kill an entire civilization. I completely disapprove of this, and I pray against it!!!”

In addition, right-wing commentator Milo Yiannopoulos also felt uncomfortable about the images and Trump’s intentions behind them.

He urged his followers to “pray for his soul” and “pray for all of us,” while wondering if Trump was beginning to believe the symbolism of his own messages.

Trump ally Jack Posobiec, however, quickly pushed back against the response, mocking critics and dismissing the outrage.

“And then we all crashed because Trump posted a meme,” he wrote on X to his followers.

But the defense was immediately met with backlash online, with users re-raising Posobiec’s previous criticism of a 2021 artwork depicting George Floyd as Jesus, which he had called “blasphemous” at the time.
