‘Watson’ and ‘DMV’ canceled at CBS

CBS canceled “Watson” and “DMV.”

“Watson” premiered in January 2025 and will soon conclude its second season. In the drama series, Morris Chestnut plays the role of Dr. John Watson in a modern Sherlock Holmes story in which Watson, according to the official description, “shifts his focus from solving crimes to solving medical mysteries. While Watson’s team of ‘doc-tectives’ may have defeated Moriarty (Randall Park) last season, in Season 2 they remain determined in their mission to investigate and treat the world’s rarest diseases for their clinic’s patients. With his eyes on the future, Watson faces an unexpected twist when Sherlock Holmes (Robert Carlyle), who was thought dead, resurfaces, forcing him to face a hidden secret from his past – a secret hidden within his own body.

Craig Sweeny created “Watson” and executive produced with Chestnut, Larry Teng, Shäron Moalem, Aaron Kaplan and Brian Morewitz.

“DMV” is a workplace comedy set in the East Hollywood Department of Motor Vehicles that premiered in October 2025 and will soon conclude its first season. According to the official description, the series followed “Colette (Harriet Dyer), a driving examiner with a big heart and bad boundaries; Gregg (Tim Meadows), a misanthropic former English teacher; Vic (Tony Cavalero), a former bouncer who enjoys putting difficult drivers in their place; Barbara (Molly Kearney), a newly promoted manager who tries hard but often misses the mark; Noa (Alex Tarrant), a charming surfer who seems destined for much bigger things; and Ceci (Gigi), a scrappy photographer who isn’t afraid to speak her mind.”
