Allegris Business Class seats on the Boeing 787-9 are certified | News

Lufthansa has received certification for 25 Allegris Business Class seats on the Boeing 787-9. On Sunday, March 15, 2026, the Dreamliner with license plate D-ABPM and the name “Potsdam” flew from Frankfurt to Toronto with 25 certified seats in Business Class. The remaining eight 787-9s equipped with Allegris are also in service with approved seats as of today or will depart by Wednesday. Last-minute bookings for these seats on flights departing from March 18 are therefore immediately available.

In the winter flight schedule, the Dreamliner currently flies from Frankfurt to Rio de Janeiro, Bogotá, Austin, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Toronto. When the summer schedule begins on March 29, the 787-9 will fly to Austin, Rio de Janeiro, Bogotá, Cape Town, Shanghai, Hyderabad and Hong Kong. From June, destinations include New York JFK and Los Angeles, followed by Delhi in July.

Travelers now also have the option to select special Allegris seats in Business Class when booking. Reserving a Classic Seat remains free; this seat offers all the benefits of the new travel class. Optionally, passengers can also reserve seats with extra comfort (the Business Class Suite, the Extra Space Seat with extra legroom, the Privacy Seat by the window and the Extra Long Bed with a sleeping surface of 2.20 meters) in advance via the seat reservation system, at an additional cost.

Since October 9, 2025, Allegris has been flying with the Boeing 787-9 from Frankfurt. Currently, ten brand new aircraft have arrived in Frankfurt, nine of which are currently in service. In total, Lufthansa Airlines wants to have 29 Boeing 787-9s by the end of 2027.
