‘Love Island USA’ renewed for season 8, premiering in June

A stellar new cast is about to enter the villa as Peacock has renewed “Love Island USA” for season 8. Ariana Madix returns to host the hit dating show, premiering June 2 at 6pm PT/9pm ET.

The renewal news comes after the seventh season of Love Island USA, which racked up more than 18.4 billion minutes streamed on Peacock during its six-week run. It also scored the No. 1 streaming original title spot in the US for six consecutive weeks. Variety previously reported that season 7 of the reality show was the most-watched original streaming TV season, growing viewership by 150% year over year.

“Love Island USA” first premiered in 2019 following the success of the British “Love Island” series. The show follows a cast of ‘Islanders’ (or some of the contestants) as they search for love in a villa in Fiji. Season 7 cast members included Bryan Arenales, Gracyn Blackmore, Jeremiah Brown, Clarke Carraway, Amaya Espinal, Hannah Fields, Pepe Garcia and Iris Kendall.

Season 2 of “Love Island: Beyond the Villa,” which was previously renewed in November, now also has a release date: April 15. The show, featuring favorite Islanders from Season 7, will premiere with two episodes, followed by a pair of new episodes streaming every Wednesday at 6pm PT/9pm ET.

Executive producers of Love Island USA include David George, Adam Sher, Ben Thursby-Palmer, Jordana Hochman, Bernie Schaeffer, James Barker, Blake Garrett, Courtney Rosenthal, Sophie Brown, Richard Cowles, Mike Spencer, Tom Gould, Ali Hill and Martin Oxley. The series, produced by ITV America, is based on a format owned by Lifted Entertainment and Motion Entertainment, a WPP Media Company and distributed by ITV Studios.
