A look at Kiefer Sutherland’s most shocking scandals and controversies

Like Oldman, Sutherland has had several run-ins with the law for drunk driving. At the time of writing, the Some good men actor has at least six DUI-related legal problems dating back to 1989.
He was also arrested in 1993 and 2004 before being handcuffed again in 2007 for the same reason. At the time, he was arrested after making an illegal U-turn after attending the FOX Fall Eco-Casino party at Area nightclub. The breath test showed he was more than twice the legal limit of .08, causing him to be cited for a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence.
Sutherland, who had entered a no-contest plea at the time, ultimately spent more than 40 days behind bars.
More than a decade later, he failed a sobriety test after being pulled over for making an illegal U-turn in Hollywood. He was booked into jail and released on $25,000 bail.
“I did that sometimes for a while. But at some point I made the decision for myself, right or wrong, that I would rather work really hard so I could have a few more of those moments, rather than just quit. That’s a choice I made, and I live with that choice,” he said of quitting alcohol in a 2016 interview.
