Love Island USA’s Daia criticizes Ariana Madix’s post-reunion hosting
Love Island USA‘S Daia McGhee has some thoughts on how Ariana Madix hosted the show’s recent Season 6 reunion.
After the highly anticipated reunion aired on Monday, August 19, McGhee took to social media to air some of her grievances. In a fan-captured TikTok live videoMcGhee recalled a moment during filming when the cast discussed the infamous fire pit scene and debated whether other cast members Leah Kateb or Liv Walker had played a bigger role in the decision that sent home Andrea Carmonawith whom he worked Rob Rausch at the time.
McGhee claimed that Madix asked the Islanders to raise their hands for who they believed was taking a backseat in the elimination discussion. According to McGhee, no one raised their hand, prompting Madix to ask again.
When McGhee got the exact same reaction, he claimed Madix, who was featured on Bravo’s Vanderpump Rules said for ten seasons that she was treated “much worse” on reality TV and told the Islanders to “just get over it.”
“Respectfully, as a host, don’t say your experience was much worse than what we’re going through, because ultimately Love Island“The numbers were much higher,” said McGhee, who was dumped from the villa on day 24 of the season.
“I just feel like as the host of the show, it’s your job not to pick favorites,” she continued. “Your job is just to be the mediator in the situation. Your job is to ask the questions that people actually want to see.”
After the reunion, some of the cast went to see Madix perform in the Broadway musical Chicago. Serena Page, YesNa Craig, Kaylor Martin And Liv Walker were all present and even took a photo with the Bravo star in costume. McGhee was not present.
This is not the first time that A Love Island host has been dealing with drama. Last year, when Sarah Hyland hosted, she had a tense moment with the contestant Keenan Anunay. After it was revealed that he would be sent home, his partner, Vickala “Kay Kay” Gray wanted to leave the show with him. When Hyland confirmed the decision with Gray, Anunay took issue with her tone of voice, claiming it “sounded, disrespectful.”
After a fellow islander apologized for Anunay’s actions, the Modern family alum responded, “Boys will be boys.”
Love Island USA season 6 is now streaming on Peacock.
