Tommy starts a new company

SPOILER ALERT: This post contains spoilers from the “Landman” season finale, “Tragedy and Flies,” now streaming on Paramount+.
After an annoying penultimate episode that ended with two shockers, “Landman” ends Season 2 with its best episode. Tommy (Billy Bob Thornton) has to deal with being fired by Cami (Demi Moore), Cooper (Jacob Lofland) has to face a murder charge and Ainsley (Michelle Randolph) has to learn a lesson – all of which ends in a satisfying way. Join us on one final trip to Texas this season with the recap below.
- I’m not trying to be insensitive, but Tommy and his family have to leave this corporate house now that he’s fired, right?
- “Because he’s trying to run the company like a business, rather than as a memento or a dream or whatever motivates her” – Tommy is really killing it, just like the fans who have been yelling at their TVs.
- Dale (James Jordan) is a real one because of his loyalty. Respect!
- Tommy, just let TL (Sam Elliott) enjoy his (very!) young companion (Francesca Xuereb).
- “She’s not going to fire you. She could do that over the phone.” Ouch, Tommy!
- Damn, Gallino (Andy Garcia) has a nice house. I guess that’s what happens when you’re a drug lord!
- Can’t they better clean up Ariana (Paulina Chávez) and her wounds?
- Aww, cute baby!
- Oh, Paigyn (Bobbi Salvör Menuez) is back!
- Ainsley (Michelle Randolph) never had to work out in high school?
- Oh, huh… Paigyn is actually smart and nice…
- “He was no longer a threat.” Um, Johnny (Mike Harkins) seemed very threatening! Cooper neutralized the situation and arrested the rapist. End of discussion.
- Johnny died? Hurrah!
- Calling Rebecca (Kayla Wallace) is smart! She must know some sharks.
- Oh, damn, Rebecca already is on top.
- Yep, Ariana – let these agents take care of business!
- “Who the hell did he kill?” Tommy, understandably confused.
- Okay, I like the friendship between Angela (Ali Larter) and Bella (Stefania Spampinato).
- Eek, Angela is going to kill Tommy.
- Oh, okay – the crisis is quickly averted.
- Wow, how did Tommy completely avoid that car accident?!? Very “final destination”!
- “Everyone with a law degree in the room raises their hand. Oh, am I the only one?” Give Rebecca a spin-off!
- Jesus, Rebecca is amazing. I’m terrified! And… in love?
- Okay, Ainsley, good for standing up for what’s right.
- Aww, Ainsley befriends Paigyn. I love this sweet turnaround!
- Wow! I’ve often made fun of Nate (Colm Feore) for being the fun cop, but I didn’t realize his swag when he flew to Cami’s office to quit. What a good chess move.
- Tommy lets his pride get to him – that’s it He are you also having a heart attack?
- Gallino vs. Tommy: It’s a showdown between big companies!
- Tommy, with his tail between his legs, looks strange. But he got the money, so great, even though it’s from his enemy.
- “It’s like looking in a mirror.” Phew, Gallino hit Tommy hard.
- Damn, so much happened in one day. The sun is still shining!
- Johnny actually died of one heart attack?!? What on earth?
- Billy Bob is eating this scene up… nom nom nom…
- Oh, this aspirin seems like foreshadowing…
- I’m glad we’re not leaving this murder charge as a cliffhanger until next season.
- Why does Tommy have so many strippers in his phone?
- Aww, cute. I like this new oil company.
- Long live CTT oil exports (and livestock)!
- Phew, bad end to the season, Tommy.
- Okay, good final bargain with God.
Until next season, “Landman” nation! In the meantime, share in the comments below if you think CTT will be a win or a disaster.
