Bachelor package Keenan reveals whether mother Cynthia Rowley paid for apartment

The bachelor alum Kit Keenan provides “a little bit of context” on how she managed to buy a New York City apartment — without her fashion designer mother Cynthia Rowley‘s help.

“I grew up with tremendous privilege and an incredibly supportive family,” Keenan, 26, said in one TikTok video shared on Friday, December 26. “My mother didn’t buy this apartment, but she let me live at home until I was 26.”

Keenan, who appeared briefly Matt James‘ season of The bachelor in 2021, announcing via social media earlier this month that she has purchased a plush complex in the Big Apple.

According to Keenan, she was ‘saving’ [her money] aggressive” while living under Rowley’s roof.

Former bachelor Matt James shared the surprising amount he pays in rent for his luxury New York City apartment. James, 33, appeared in a Wednesday, July 16, TikTok video with real estate influencer Caleb Simpson, who requested a tour of the former Bachelor home. In the since-deleted clip, James revealed to Simpson that he […]

“She also introduced me to my accountant and my financial advisory team at age 18 when I earned my first paycheck,” the influencer explained. “She led by example and showed me how important financial independence is as a woman and why investing in real estate is important.”

Rowley, 67, shares Kit with ex-husband William Keenan Jr., as well as 20-year-old daughter Gigi with her current husband, Willem Machten. As for her business, Rowley launched her eponymous fashion label in 1988 to eventual worldwide success. She has also written several books and co-hosts her “Ageless” podcast with Kit.

“[My mom’s] career and fame have given me so much access. I’ve definitely benefited from it on my own social media,” Kit admitted on Friday. “It also allowed me to appear on a reality TV show at the age of 21, which introduced me to an audience far beyond my original niche.”

Despite using her privilege to gain online fame, Kit emphasized that Rowley “did not co-sign [her] borrow or contribute to [the] down payment or payment [her] mortgage” at all.

“I think it’s okay to say that I’m very proud that I did that all by myself,” Kit said. “I’ll be honest and say that I wanted to share this partly because of my own ego, but I also want to write this conversation because this is truly my dream job.”

According to Kit, working as a content creator has “created opportunities that go far beyond that [her] wildest dreams.”

“I have also seen how it created stability and independence for so many of my peers,” she noted. “If you’ve been curious about creating content and shame is holding you back, I want you to know that it’s been worth it for me in more ways than I could ever have expected.”

Kit will be closed on site on Tuesday 23 December.

“Today is a very exciting day because I am closing my apartment,” she said in a statement Instagram video. “I’m so nervous, and as excited as I am, I also feel like this is over my head. How do I do this? How did I get to this point? It’s taken so long and so many years of saving.”

Kit, who brought her mother along to sign the title, has since been over the moon about her residential milestone.

“[I’m] so proud of myself and so excited for this new chapter,” she concluded at the time.
