Nominees for Producers Guild Awards in sports, children’s and short films

The Producers Guild of America continues to unveil nominations for the 37th annual PGA Awards — and on Friday, the organization unveiled nods in the sports, kids and short programs categories. Among the nominees is the winner of last year’s excellent children’s program, ‘Sesame Street’, which will again compete with the contenders this year.
Other returning nominees include ‘Formula 1: Drive to Survive’ and ‘Hard Knocks’ in sports; “SpongeBob SquarePants” in the children’s category; and “Hacks: Bit By Bit” and “Overtime with Bill Maher” in the short program field.
The 37th annual Producers Guild Awards will announce the winners during the PGA’s East and West Coast celebrations of nominees and production teams in February; the PGA awards show takes place on February 28.
According to the organization, the annual PGA ceremony “celebrates the work of production and recognizes notable achievements in film, television and emerging media, highlighting the professionals whose decisions and oversight have made superior contributions to the projects that shape the industry and culture at large.”
The final polls open on Monday, January 5 for the sports, kids and short-form categories, with those polls ending on Monday, January 19 at 2pm PT.
The nominees for the innovation prize and documentary films were announced on December 9; Producers honored at this year’s ceremony include Amy Pascal (David O. Selznick Achievement Award), Mara Brock Akil (Norman Lear Achievement Award) and Jason Blum (Milestone Award). The nominees for cinema films, animated films, TV series/specials and television/streamed films will then be announced on Friday, January 9.
