Dylan Dreyer proudly unveils first Christmas tree after leaving New York City for the suburbs with her three sons

Presenter of “Today”. Dylan Dreyer has put up a beautiful Christmas tree in her suburban home as she prepares to celebrate her first holiday season with her three boys since the family left their New York City apartment to enjoy a quieter lifestyle.

Dreyer, 44, revealed in November that she had followed in the footsteps of fellow presenters Hoda Kotb And Jenna Bush Hager by leaving city life in favor of the suburbs not long after announcing her divorce from her husband, Brian Fichera.

At the time, she talked about how she and her boys…Calvin9, Olivier5, and Rusty3 – settled into their new abode, as they opened up about their first big celebration there: Halloween.

Now that Thanksgiving is behind them, the family is embracing a new festive tradition at the lavish property, decorating their halls and pruning their tree in a touching family milestone.

Dreyer took to Instagram to show off the festive fern, which sits in front of large French doors that open onto the patio and allow natural light to flood in.

In the first image, the host’s sons were seen placing baubles on the tree before flashing a smile at the camera.

In another image, Dreyer and her children were seen going through the Christmas decorations as they sat by their brick-decorated fireplace, which was covered in stockings.

Dreyer was seen on a ladder as he placed the tree topper on their fully covered tree, which featured personalized decorations.

In the final film in the carousel of photos, Dreyer showed off her completed tree, which was decorated with yellow lights.

She captioned the image: “Now it feels like Christmas!!”

There was no trace of Fichera in the images, which appear to have been taken at night, allowing the Christmas tree to really shine in the darkness.

The holiday reveal comes after she first broke her silence about her split on Nov. 5, when she appeared as a co-host on “Today With Jenna & Friends.”

When asked by Hager what life has been like as a single woman, Dreyer took the opportunity to hit back at those who criticized her divorce, saying, “I appreciate the comments from everyone who has spoken out about my life and our decisions and what we’ve decided as a family. Thank you for your thoughts on that.”

She went on to share some insight into how her relationship with her former husband has evolved since their decision to end their marriage, emphasizing that they still have a very close bond, regardless of the fact that it is no longer romantic.

“Everyone has their reasons for what leads to a separation or divorce. That’s another story with a lot of wine and that’s a completely different thing, but regardless, we ended up in this place,” she shared.

“And there’s something liberating, I think, for Brian and me, where whatever the reason is, whatever’s broken in a marriage – you can fix it if you can and ideally you would and you try, and you try to fix things. Or you accept that it’s broken and you take this new step forward.”

After Halloween weekend, Dreyer revealed how she and her family celebrated the spooky holiday, explaining, “We moved out of town, so this is their first Halloween in the suburbs. This was their first Halloween in the suburbs.”

And it seems her three sons were eager to take advantage of their new community by not only trick or treating, but also handing out candy to their new neighbors.

“They were already tired at 5:30 PM, but then Rusty stood at the door for two hours!” she shared as she showed off photos and videos of the kids enjoying their evening.

Dreyer added that despite many older children approaching their front door, her youngest son remained strong and refused to hand out more than one piece of candy to every trick or treater, noting that Rusty seemed to enjoy the power of his new role.

“After dark, a lot of middle schoolers and older kids come and he passed out a piece of candy for everyone and he kept looking over his shoulder. He loved it,” she said.

The presenter previously teased their move on her Instagram, sharing photos of her children posing for their first day of school outside their suburban home, which is surrounded by lush greenery, and a photo of the family eating as moving boxes sat next to them.

News of her move came just over a month after she managed to find a buyer for her longtime home in New York City — days after she and Fichera knocked half a million dollars off their asking price.

Dreyer and Fichera originally listed their marital home, where they raised their three sons, in November 2024 with an asking price of $2.49 million.

The couple did not comment at the time on why they made the decision to part with the property; However, Dreyer had previously said they were beginning to outgrow the space, leading some to believe they were hoping to move to a larger place.

Dreyer surprised fans in early July when she announced that she and Fichera were splitting after 13 years of marriage. She revealed the news in an emotional statement shared on her Instagram account.

Interestingly, just a few days after announcing their split, they removed the listing for their two-bedroom, two-bath condo, before putting it back on the market at the discounted price of $1.99 million.

Dreyer and Fichera bought the two-bedroom, two-bathroom condo in June 2016, according to property records, just a few months before they welcomed Calvin.

She and Fichera also own a beautiful beach house in Point Lookout, NY, which was purchased in 2021 for $2.5 million.
