Joel Edgerton Drama ‘Trigger Point’ Set on Netflix with A24 Production

Netflix has given a series order to “Trigger Point,” an A24-produced series starring Joel Edgerton.

The eight-episode action-crime drama follows “a group of former Tier One Special Forces Operators who sell their elite skills to the criminal underworld behind the front of a private military contractor company – and the FBI agent hunting them,” according to the official logline. Edgerton will play Red, the leader of the criminal group.

Harrison Query serves as showrunner, while Jeremy Saulnier will direct. Both are executive producers alongside Cut To’s Joe Hipps and Patrick Macdonald.

Edgerton is currently a name in the running for the 2026 leading actor Oscar, having played Robert Grainier in the Clint Bentley-directed film “Train Dreams,” which debuted at Sundance before landing on Netflix earlier this year. His prominent credits include the role of Owen Lars in the “Star Wars” films “Attack of the Clones” and “Revenge of the Sith” plus the Disney+ series “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” Tom Buchanan in Baz Luhrmann’s 2013 film “Great Gatsby,” and Richard Loving in Jeff Nichols’ 2016 film “Loving.” He also wrote, directed and starred in the films “The Gift” (2015) and “Boy Erased” (2018).

Query was co-writer alongside Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec of the Amazon Prime Video film “Heads of State,” starring Idris Elba and John Cena, which was released in July. He is also co-creator with Tommy Wallach of “Unspeakable: The Murder of JonBenét Ramsey,” Paramount+’s upcoming true crime drama series starring Melissa McCarthy and Clive Owen.
