Supabase nabs $5B valuation, four months after hitting $2B

It has been a whirlwind year for the favorite database of the atmospheric world: Supabase. On Friday, Supabase announced that it has collected a new series E of $ 100 million E. at a rating of $ 5 billion, led by Accel and Peak XV. This is only four months after closing its $ 200 million series D for a rating of $ 2 billion, led by Accel.
And that series D was only seven months after raising a series C of $ 80 million under the leadership of Sequoia Spinoff Peak XV and David Sacks’ Craft Ventures with an unknown appreciation. PitchBook estimated Supabase was appreciated at around $ 765 million in that deal, post-money.
So that has been collected $ 380 million in a year and a valuation step of more than 500%, assuming that the estimates of PitchBook of the Serie C valuation are in the margin. Supabase has now collected a total of $ 500 million, says it.
Open Source Database Service Supabase was founded in 2020 by CEO Paul Copplestone and CTO Ant Wilson (depicted above), a few years before the LLM-driven atmospheric coding rage produced. It was originally a Y Combinator startup that developers offered a postgress-based open source alternative to Google’s FireBase. FireBase is a database that is also designed to power AI apps.
Supabase combines PostGres with other open source tools for enterprise-grade for functions such as authentication, automatically generated APIs, file storage and a vector toolkit (needed for many AI apps). It simplified the difficult parts of setting a database to a few clicks on the button. Consequently, it became a popular back-end for tools for coding atmosphere coding-die writing apps with natural language prompts such as fast-growing sweet and bolt. It is increasingly being used as the favorite database for Figma and other Uber Popular AI coding tools such as replit, cursor and claude code, says it.
It is interesting, because Supabase is open source and supported by a community of developers – who claims 4 million developers as users – allows community members to also buy shares as part of this E -finance series, the company said.
