‘Mid-Century Modern’ canceled after a season in Hulu

“Mid-Century Modern” was canceled in Hulu after only one season.

Series fellow maker Max Mutchnick shared the news InstagramWriting: “Ten great episodes … not enough. But we loved to make each of them. We’re going to miss our very special show. Thanks to everyone who looked.”

The Multi-Cam Comedy series originally debuted in March. Nathan Lane, Matt Bomer, Nathan Lee Graham and Linda Lavin led the cast, although Lavin died in December 2024 prior to the premiere of the series.

The official loglijn states that the show follows: “Three best friends follows – gay of a certain age – who, after an unexpected death, decide to spend their golden years together in Palm Springs where the richest who lives with his mother. As a chosen family prove that, regardless of things, there is always someone to remember that you are better.”

Mutchnick and David Kohan, who previously created ‘Will & Grace’, made the series together and served as executive producers, with Ryan Murphy also executive. Lane and Bomer were executive producers next to the leading role. James Burrows Executive produced and directed all 10 episodes. 20th television was the studio.

“Mid-Century Modern” mainly received positive reviews with its release, with the show maintaining a critical approval classification of 88% on Rotten Tomatoes. It was unable to find an important audience, it seems. Hulu usually does not provide information about viewers, but the show did not appear in the streaming graphs of the Nielsen Top 10, which measures the streaming of viewers.
