Zohran Mamdani cancels ABC Town Hall after Jimmy Kimmel Suspension

Mayor of New York City, candidate Zohran Mamdani, pulls himself out of a television house with WABC news on 25 September because of ABC’s suspension of “Jimmy Kimmel Live”.
Last week the network grew to threats the Federal Communications Commission by Donald Trump and “Jimmy Kimmel Live” for an indefinite period of time after the Host’s comments about Charlie Kirk’s murder. The move was with a rapid recoil by Hollywood figures, democratic leaders and even some conservative politicians such as Ted Cruz. Protests against ABC mother company Disney broke out in New York and Los Angeles.
Mamdani announced that he stooped from the event, broadcast on the local New York channel of ABC, in defense of the freedom of expression and in protest against ABC. “We simply cannot accept capitulation for Donald Trump’s attacks on our fundamental freedoms,” Mamdani said in a statement to Amny, broke the news. “This is the time for leadership that fighting back with action, and jointly we must use every tool at our disposal to send a message to both Washington and Corporate Powers: our freedom for expression is not a negotiating ship.”
Mamdani gave Monday morning at a press conference at a press conference in Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms State Park on Roosevelt Island, a location that Eerde’s State of the Union Public President in 1941, who mentioned the freedom of expression as one of the four fundamental freedoms of the American.
On Wednesday, after Kimmel made comments about the murder of Charlie Kirk during his late night show and Trump’s reaction to it, endangered FCC chairman Brendan Carr Regulatory pressure on broadcasters sent those comments that he considered misleading or against the public interest. Within a few hours, Nexstar and Sinclair, companies that have ABC affiliation channels, broadcasts of “Jimmy Kimmel Live” followed, and ABC immediately followed the example, with the comedian struck the comedian for an indefinite period of time.
On Friday Variety Reported that Kimmel and Disney worked to reach a compromise to reduce his show on-air, but no agreement has been concluded. Disney continued to compensate for Kimmel’s staff during the interruption of work.
