John le Carré’s ‘A Most Wanted Man’ gets Korean adjustment

London -based studio The Ink Factory cooperates with the Korean production company VO Media to develop a series adjustment by John Le Carré’s crowded spy thriller ‘A Most Wanted Man’.

The adjustment of the Korea set will be scripted by Kim Yun-Shin, with Kim Shin-Ho from VO Media. Park Bo-Kyeong of VO Media will supervise the development in addition to the executive producer of the Ink Factory for Korea, Junyoung Jang. Executive producers include Tessa Inkelaar, Simon Cornwell, Stephen Cornwell and Michele Wolkoff for the Ink -Factory, Plus Joe Tsai and Arthur Wang of 127 wall productions.

The novel 2008 revolves around an illegal Muslim migrant who arrives from Russia in Hamburg, who is imprisoned between intelligence services from several countries in the era after 9/11. The story investigates themes of paranoia and moral ambiguity in the war against terror.

“John le Carré’s ‘A Most Wanted Man’ is not just about espionage or the war against terror. In essence, the story asks: under the name of the nation, how easily an individual can become a sacrifice?” Said producer Kim Shin-Ho and writer Kim Yun-Shin. “We were attracted to re -interpret this story in the context of modern Korean history – a history characterized by war, division, dictatorship and countless sacrifices that were made in the name of safety.”

Simon Cornwell and Stephen Cornwell, founders and co-CEOs in the Ink Factory, said: ” A most wanted man ‘is a moving exploration of trust, power and morality themes that remain deeply relevant today. While we continue to make up the global planning of the Le Cafeted projects. forward to bring a clear Korean perspective on this moving story and to reconsider the complicated world of Spe Carré through a new cultural lens for the public in Korea and far beyond. ”

Park Bo-Kyeong at VO Media added: “This collaboration not only enables us to adjust one of the most human and politically sharp works of Le Carré, but also to learn and grow through the experience of the ink factory in Europe, the US and beyond.”

VO Media, founded in 2015 by Park and Kim, has credits, including “Why Her”, “I can hear your voice” and “The King 2 Hearts”. The partnership represents the continuous expansion of the ink factory to Asian markets, according to projects such as the Hindi language adjustment of “The Night Manager” for Disney+ Hotstar.
