Terence Crawford vs Canelo Alvarez attracts 41 million viewers on Netflix

The victory of Terence Crawford over Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez attracted a considerable audience on Netflix.
The competition, which took place at Allegiant Stadium in Nevada on September 13, attracted an average minute of audience (AMA) of 36.6 million Live+the same day viewers, per videoamp and Netflix. In Live+1, that number rose to 41.4 million viewers. The American public alone was good for 20.3 million viewers on Live+the same day.

For comparison: the boxing match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul in November 2024 – which was the first outing of Netflix in live boxing – attracted an AMA of 108 million viewers and peaked at 65 million simultaneous streams. More recently, the third matchup of Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano got an AMA of 6 million viewers in July.
Crawford defeated Álvarez through unanimous decision after 12 rounds to win the undisputed super middleweight championship. 70,482 people were personally present per Netflix and generated a gate of $ 47 million.
Elsewhere on the main map, Callum Walsh Fernando Vargas Jr. defeated, while Mohammed Alakel Travis Kentoed Crawford defeated. Both fights were unanimous decisions. Christian M’Billi also fought Lester Martinez against a split draw in a super middleweight fight.
