Eric Adams Says that he cannot support legalizing prostitution … Referring his earlier experience as a police officer and his faith as the main reasons for that.
The mayor of New York City accompanied us for an interview that will be broadcast on Thursday … And he says that he is absolutely against legalizing prostitution – not like his opponent ZOHRAN MAMDANI has indicated in the past.
Adams says he remembers that he saw young men – only 18 or 19 years old – selling their bodies in the day on the street … and he claims that prostitution has contributed to the AIDS epidemic in the city also in the day.
When demanding a red-light district-such as the species in Amsterdam-says Adams that even such spaces do not end the exploitation and violence associated with prostitution.
Adams says that in the end he doesn’t like to treat sex work as if it were a feasible occupation for young people to have … and he doesn’t want to encourage it at all.
Adams also quotes his Christian faith … and throws shadow in Mamdani to support the legalization of prostitution while he claims to be a man of the Islamic faith.
Adams and Mamdani run against each other in the mayor of NYC … and former Governor Andrew Cuomo runs as independent.
It seems that the race warms up … and Adams makes his opinion about the hot button problems completely clear in the run-up.
