‘My brilliant friend’ receives Turkish adjustment from OGM photos

The beloved Napolitan novels of Elena Ferrante go to Turkey.

Wildide, Het Apartment, Fremantle and Fandango work together with OGM photos to produce the first script layout adjustment of the internationally acclaimed drama ‘My Brilliant Friend’. The Turkish adjustment is planned to start production later this year.

Ferrante’s four-novel cycle, who is investigating for decades of friendship between two women from Naples from the 1950s, became a worldwide television sensation When HBO and RAI brought it to screens in 2018. The series concluded last November after four seasons of widespread critical praise.

The original series was made by Saverio Costanzo and produced by Lorenzo Mieli for the apartment and Wildide (both Fremantle Companies) and Domenico Procacci for Fandango, in collaboration with Rai Fiction and HBO Entertainment. The story and the scenarios were from Ferrante, Francesco Piccolo, Laura Paolucci and Costanzo.

The Turkish market already knows the property well. Fremantle spread the original over more than 170 areas, where Turkish viewers have access to it via Digiturk, Tabii, Turkcell TV+ and Puhu TV.
