‘Fantastic Four’ takes good first steps at Box Office; Comic con recap

“The Fantastic Four: First Steps” kept the momentum at the summer box office that Hollywood’s year-to-date Trek has stimulated a profit of more than 10% compared to last year’s strike-oriented frame.
The nuances of The performance of “Fantastic Four” in the opening weekend At the Box Office are discussed in the latest episode of Podcast “Daily Variety”. Rebecca Rubin, Variety‘s Senior Film and Media Reporter, explains everything that Marvel Studios is driving on the film that introduces a new generation of New-like characters in the famous Marvel Cinematic Universe. The opening weekend of the $ 118 million film was largely fed by the core target group for Marvel films. But that can change.
“About 68 % of the opening weekend audience was men,” says Rubin. “That was a bit surprising for me, not because it is surprising that men like to see superhero movies, because that is really the target group. But if you see if you have seen ‘Fantastic Four,’ Vanessa Kirby’s character and storyline is very feminine and she is no longer a little people who resonate a lot with her character. ‘
“Fantastic Four” also maintained another recent trend for photos with large budget that Hollywood is happy to see. Movie is increasingly driven by premium-fed tickets for large screen theaters a la imax.
“Nearly 50% of ticket sales came from Premium Large Formats,” says Rubin, “what meant that when people went to see it, they really wanted to see it on the largest and the brightest screens. And that has definitely been a trend that has increased since the pandemic. When the public wants to leave the house, they are really over-in-in-in-in-in [high-end screens including] IMAX, Dolby, 4DX – Only these screens that they really can’t replicate at home. ”
Also in this episode, Michael Schneider, Variety‘s television -editor, delivers the highlights of what has proven to be a quieter San Diego Comic Con -collection Last weekend. George Lucas’ surprise performance and the controversy was continued by “South Park’s” Spies of President Trump were under the spoken times of the Four Days Marches.
Schneider himself moderated panels for the upcoming revivals “King of the Hill” (for Hulu) And “Phineas and Ferb” (for Disney+).
There was not much important news from Comic Con, but the hardcore fans didn’t seem to do that. The cosplay game was fierce this year, says Schneider.
“My favorite costume – I walked down the street and pass a man who wears some balloons, with a blue turtleneck, pants, big bushy mustache. It was a milchick of dismissal,” he says. “The one who was at the cosplay when Milchick did so fantastic work, up to the balloons with the face of Adam Scott on them. It was brilliant.”
