CJ ENMs ‘Law and the City’ scores strong global streaming performance

CJ etmS “Law and the city“Has performed strongly on international streaming platforms in his debut week, with the legal drama with Lee Jong-Suk, Mun Ka-Young, Kang You-seok, Ryu Hye-Young and IM Sung-Jae who achieved remarkable rankings worldwide.
The series, after five associated lawyers in the Seocho-Dong Legal District of Seoul, broke the top 5 of Rakuten Viki in 144 regions, including the US, Brazil, France, VAE and India. It was on weekly charts in Mena and India, while it became second in America, Europe and Oceania.
In Japan, the show was second on the U-Next drama pails and the sixth general, achieving the “best first week result of the platform in 2025.” The series also claimed first place in the K-Drama category of Iqiyi in Taiwan and at the top of TVN Asia viewers in Southeast Asia.
Local has led “Law and the City” the prime-time end of Korea with 5.1% average household viewers since the premiere of 5 July.

India’s Union Minister for information and broadcast Ashwini Vaishnaw and Maharashtra State Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis jointly inaugurated the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (Iict) Campus on Mumbai’s NFDC Films Division Complex, Pedder Road, on Friday.
The facility has advanced media laboratories, post-production suites and special spaces for animation, VFX and XR training. Academic programs start in September, with 300 students expected in the inaugural year. A second campus is planned for Filmcity Goregaon within two years.
“In this creative world, technology has become an integral part and it is important that we enable people to be part of the maker -economy,” said Vaishnaw. Fadnavis added: “This is not just an event; it is a moment – a moment that now changes into a movement.”
Iict offers programs in integrated media post production, animation, VFX, XR and emerging technologies, aimed at the growing AVGC-XR sector of India (animation, visual effects, gaming, comics and extensive reality).
Programming power
The Berlin International Film Festival has expanded its programming range with the appointment of Anu Rangachar As a representative for South Asia. The Indian producer-curator will explore regional titles for director Tricia TuttleThe team of the report to co-programming leaders Jacqueline Lyanga and Michael Stütz.
Rangachar brings a festival credit of its role of the international program of Mami Mumbai, plus distribution experience in the field of South Asian arthouse photos with American buyers. Her producing CV includes several Indian Indie functions, including 2025 Berlinale title “Shadowbox”, 2023 Locarno film “Rapture” and 2020 Rotterdam selection “Nasir”.
“Anu round our various team of curators, advisers and delegates around those many years of expertise and deep networks throughout the world industry,” Tuttle said.
The recruitment reinforces the global Berlinale programming network, since festivals compete for emerging international content.
