‘Neighbours’ Wraps The Last Production refers to future possibilities

Production on the iconic Australian soap opera “Buren” has officially packed for Prime Video, where the cast filmed their latest scenes in Nunawading Studios on Friday. The series, which the audience has been entertaining for more than 40 years, will broadcast its last episodes in December, leaving Amazon’s two -year revival.
The beloved series, which launched the careers of global superstars Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan and Margot Robbie, describes the life and dramas of the fictional Erinsborough residents of Melbourne since the founding. The rescue effort of Amazon added 460 episodes to the inheritance of the show of more than 9,000 episodes.
“‘Buren’ is a special show and it has been a privilege to make our loyal viewers around the world in recent seasons,” said performing producer Jason Herbison. “We have added 460 episodes to our legacy of more than 9,000 episodes, something we are all proud of. Again, we will rest the inhabitants of Ramsay Street on a hopeful note, with some seductive possibilities for a future chapter.”
The series experienced consistent top 10 rankings in the UK under the steward of Amazon and earned an Emmy nomination from 2024 for Outstanding Daytime series during the day.
For many of the veteran cast members of the series, the Wrap marks the end of career-relevant runs. Stefan Dennis, who played Paul Robinson for four decades, thought about the impact of the show: “I never thought a single show would give me the biggest adventures of my career, of 40 years. Without ‘neighbors’ I would not have met the people, went to the places and lived the experiences of a lifespan.”
Alan Fletcher, who has depicted Karl Kennedy for more than 30 years, described the series as his ‘Happy Place’ and praised ‘the creative freedom and enthusiasm among the entire team that has enabled us to produce a brilliant show for so long.’
Jackie Woodburne, who played Susan Kennedy for three decades, expressed her gratitude in characteristic warm terms: “It is impossible to measure the gratitude that I feel for the 30 -year gift to ‘Buren.’ We are the best version of ‘family’.
The emotional impact also extended to newer cast members. Matt Wilson, who played Aaron Brennan, called the show ‘A Real Beacon of Hope’, while Ben Jackson, who depicted Max Ramsay, described his experience as ‘the greatest gift of my life’.
The current cancellation marks the second time that ‘Buren’ has confronted his end. In 2022 the series was canceled after 37 seasons. It was revived months later, finding a new house on Amazon’s Avod Service Freevee, who picked up the rights of the producer and distributor Fremantle van de Buren. When Freevee was eliminated, the show went to Prime Video.
This second cancellation concludes a series that is deeply embedded in the structure of the international television culture, especially in Australia and the VK, the last episodes of the show will be broadcast in December, which marks the end of an era that has spoken four decades of television history.
Such as Cast member Naomi Rukavina, who played Remi Varga-Murphy, said it: “It is a special thing to be part of a national icon. ‘Buren’ is nothing as I had thought; it has been blessing for me. Filling, stabilizing and heart filling. Long live the icon.”
