Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson Apple Series breaks production

Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson’s Apple TV+ Comedy series have paused production in the midst of creative changes at the helm of the show.

Variety Has confirmed that the series, currently entitled ‘Brothers’, had finished filming eight of its 10 episodes in Texas before the Shutdown. David West Read – who served as the writer of the series, showrunner and executive producer – has left due to creative differences. Lee Eisenberg is currently in conversation to take over as a Showrunner for the latest episodes and resorts.

Eisenberg has previously worked with Apple on the Anthologie series “Little America” ​​and the shows “Lessons in Chemistry” with Brie Larson and “Wecrashed” with Jared Leto and Anne Hathaway. His other credits are the hit Amazon series “Jury Duty” and “The Office”.

“Brothers” was originally announced in 2023 and was loosely inspired by the actual friendship of the two stars. The official logline states: “The friendship of Matthew and Woody is tested when their combined families try to live together on Matthew’s Ranch in Texas.”

The cast of the series also includes Holland Taylor, Natalie Martinez, Brittany Ishibashi, Oona Yaffe, Highdee Kuan, Nolan Almeida, Ella Grace Helton and Noah Carganilla. Both McConaughey and Harrelson will produce Executive in addition to the leading role. David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Matt Thunell from Skydance Television will produce Executive together with Bill Bost and Jeremy Peaser. Jason Winer directed several episodes, including the first, and serves as an executive producer. Skydance TV is the studio behind the series.
