Chace Crawford was Typecast as the ‘CW Pretty Boy’ after ‘Gossip Girl’

18 years after the release of “Gossip Girl”, Chace Crawford spoke about how Nate Archibald influenced the start of his career.

In a recent interview with The Podcast “Good Guys”Crawford spoke about how he was Typecast in roles comparable to his performance and the golden boy of the Upper East Side, who is one of the love interests for both leading female characters, Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) and Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester), in the series. “I felt that I was in the wilderness for years after ‘Gossip Girl’, because such a big show as it was, from it as a young guy, [I felt like]”Oh, that’s no longer cool,” said Crawford. “I am in this prison of the CW Pretty Boy that has no reach.”

Crawford discussed how happy he was to work on ‘Gossip Girl’, but claimed that the years after the success of the show were difficult. “It was not lost with me how difficult after those four years of some false starts in some TV shows, it can be difficult to find something else. I was really, really appreciation when this happened … after I was on something like ‘Gossip Girl’. [It’s] Not that I naturally considered it, it was so fresh and I was so young that by the end you inevitably considered part of it as a matter of course. ”

Crawford also spoke about filming ‘The Boys’, which filmed his fifth and final season, and how working on the series offered a new start to his career. “It was great. I was so happy that I still had a job that I was enthusiastic about and that the character was so different from everything I had done before.”
