I look at Netflix for the cost-this is what I stream this weekend (13-15 June)

It is both a privilege and a curse to be paid to view Netflix for a living. The professionals are clear – I get a lot of films to watch and get a decent wage for that. But the disadvantages are also there and the big disadvantage of this job is that I have to endure many bad films.
But occasionally I discover a hidden gem from the past that wastes the memories of all stinkers on Netflix. Outdoors is a comedy that was a hit when it was released in 1988, but not the lasting legacy has those similar films of that time, such as Comes to America of Eddie Murphy And Big of Tom Hankshave had. But it is just as funny as those classics, and it is my choice for one film that you have to stream on Netflix this weekend.
It’s the perfect summer movie

The big outsideS follows the Ripley family while they escape from Chicago to spend their summer vacation in their cabin on the lake in Woodsy Wisconsin. Dad Chet (John Candy) is appalled to discover that his brother -in -law, Roman Craig (Dan Aykroyd), and his family have decided to join them without an advance. Now the two families will have to find a way to live together without going on each other’s nerves – or worse.
That is the basic setting for the film, and it is a solid basis for a comic collision between the ripe files and the higher class Craigs. It also lets you live by the families if they can experience a summer vacation that you might not be able to enjoy. I have no plans to spend my inactive time near a lake, so it is very pleasant to see the chari -ski characters in the lake, to camp in the forest and relax in their spacious cabin.

Films are a great way to travel far without leaving your room and The big outsideS has sufficient suggestive landscape to give you the feeling that you spend your summer vacation to Bass Lake, where the comedy was filmed. It is an escapist rate, and it gives you exactly what the title promises: beautiful scenes of the outside air.
It has 2 comic legends on their very best

In 1988, some of the greatest comic stars were included Eddie Murphy” Danny Devito And Arnold Schwarzenegger. (Yes, you read that last name well – ’88 was the year of Twins.) Aykroyd and Candy were also great during this time, with hits like Uncle Buck” Trawl” My stepmother is an alien being And more. Their cooperation in Outdoors Was a big problem, and they make a great comic duo because of how different their styles are of humor.
Aykroyd plays Roman as a pompous blowhard who likes to show off his wealth to need Chet. Candy plays Chet like a Everyman who is cursed with being too nice to really say what he feels. Their two characters can hardly stand each other, so the film constantly places them in the same situations. It is a recipe for comic gold and it pays off during the film.
This applies especially during the order when a bat enters the cabin, and it is up to the two frightened fathers to get it out. Roman wants to be aggressive and kill, while Chet would rather be careful and just wait until the bat leaves automatically. Roman convinces Chet to attack, but the bat gets the upper hand and clings to the face of Chet. Roman feels an opportunity and does not hesitate to touch the bat – and Chet’s face – with a tennis racket.

The problem is solved – the bat is dead – but Chet suffers for it, and we can’t help but laugh at his misery. Candy always suffers in his comedies – remember his Wallyworld -Marteling in National Lampoon’s holiday? – But his characters are always recognizable and have a certain dignity for them. Conversely, Aykroyd gets the most from Roman’s self -satisfaction without fully sacrificing the sympathy of the audience. He likes to show his wealth, but it is later revealed that there is a good reason for that.
Chet and Roman are a strange couple in the classic sentence, but they work well together, even if one of them usually suffers. The same applies to Candy and Aykroyd, and it is a pity that the two no longer played in more films Candy’s early death in 1994.
They no longer make such comedies

You don’t have to be a film expert to know that comedies on a big screen are nowadays a rare breed. It’s all about franchises and action films at the plywood and comedies such as Home alone And this is often exiled to streaming. Seen today, Outdoors is a rare race-it is a comedy with a large budget that is perfect for the whole family.
That does not mean that it is just as harmless as a Disney film – there is a schunnig story about the ass of a bear that culminates in one of the best jokes of the film at the end. There is also a blue joke about a washing machine and how it helps one of the mothers to reach an orgasm that is my favorite comic bit in the film.
Outdoors Works like a movie for everyone; It is immature enough for the children and smart enough for the adults. It is the perfect film to start your summer with, and a great way to spend time with two comedy film icons at the top of their game.
