Netflix orders animated comedy ‘mating season’ from ‘Big Mouth’ team
“Big Mouth” can end, but the team behind the show stays in business with Netflix.
Variety Has learned that the streamer ordered the animated comedy series “Mating Season” from Brutus Pink, the company that produces “Big Mouth”. The new series will debut in 2026. For the official description, “mating season” “is in the animal world with a cast of bears, raccoons, foxes and a large number of other horny, loving forest critters, while navigating love, sexual relationships and the universal need to find a partner and a partner.”
“Big Mouth” broke new territory in the world of adult animation with heart, humor and total chaos -they took the clumsiness of adolescence and made it in something universal and deeply human, “said John Derderian, vice -president of animation -Aeries at Netflix. “Working with Nick Kroll and the brilliant spirits in Brutus Pink in the course of eight seasons has been legendary. Now, with ‘mating season’, they will bring the same daring and hilarious creativity into animal kingdom. We are more than enthusiastic about unleashes this next chapter.”
“Mating Season” is made and executive produced by Mark Levin, Jennifer Flackett, Andrew Goldberg and Nick Kroll with Chris Pynoski, Shannon Pynoski, Antonio Canobbio and Ben Kalina who serve as executive producers for Titmouse.
“After eight incredible seasons that tell stories about growing up, we are delighted to tell stories about real adults. Those animals are also cartoons,” said the Brutus Pink team.
The eighth and final season of “Big Mouth” debuts on May 23. Prior to the premiere, Kroll and others from the show will be going on what is called the “Big Mouth Swallows America Farewell Tour”. The Tour will see the corridor screening screening new episodes and at the same time drop exclusive merchandise. Tickets are now available.
