But just before the White House left, Bides used his powers to save his youngest son to go to prison.

In a statement released by the White House, Bides said: “Today I signed a grace for my son Hunter.

“From the day I took office, I said that I would not disrupt the decision -making of the Ministry of Justice, and even while I saw my Word seeing that my son was selective and unfairly prosecuted.”

He added: “During my entire career I have followed a simple principle: just tell the American people the truth. They will be honest.

“This is the truth: I believe in the legal system, but as I have struggled, I also believe that raw politics has infected this process and it led to a judicial miscarriage – and as soon as I had taken this weekend, it was no sense to postpone it further.

“I hope Americans will understand why a father and a president would come to this decision.”

The pardon came only a few days before Hunter’s planned conviction for his conviction about the accusations of federal weapons.
