Rhea Seehorn to receive Seriesfest Excellence in Acting Award

Rhea Seehorn will receive Seriesfest’s “Excellence in Acting Award” during the 11th season of the festival on 2 May, Variety Can only announce.

Seehorn will be recognized at the Sooirée event of the annual television festival. The Emmy Award-nominated actress recently played in and Executive produced ‘Cooper’s Bar’, which started as an independent series before he was picked up at AMC Networks. Prior to her Emmy-nominated work in ‘Cooper’s Bar’, she played in ‘Better Call Saul’ as Kim Wexler (who landed her two Emmy nominations), ‘Veep’, ‘Whitney’ and the Reboot 2019 of ‘The Twilight Zone’ told by Jordan Peele.

“Rhea Seehorn is an example of the spirit of excellence in acting price through fearless performances, artistic integrity and a dedication to authentic stories,” said Seriesfest co-founders of Randi Kleiner and Kaily Smith in a joint explanation. “From her iconic role in ‘Better Call Saul’ to her incredible work on ‘Cooper’s Bar’, she remains champion of independent television and inspires the audience with characters who resonate and leave lasting impact.”

Coming from the announcement that Sundance will be moving to Colorado in 2027, director Eugene Hernandez of Sundance Film Festival will be at Kleiner, television producer Doug Mankoff (“Nebraska”) and independent filmmaker Cooper Raiff (“Cha Cha Real Smooth”) for a conversation and their role in the future.

The festival will contain the American premiere of the drama series “Sunny Nights” with the leading role Will Forte and d’Arcy Carden. The show is produced by Jungle Entertainment and Echo Lake Entertainment in collaboration with CineFlix -Rights.

The International Spotlight of Seriesfest will also contain a screening and conversation with series -maker/director Mark Alazraki and EP Moy Chivver from Netflix’s Mexican comedy series ‘Welcome to the Family’, about a displayed single mother who dies with his second wife to die with his second wife to die.

Seriesfest runs from April 29 to May 4.
