And so it’s going to open Tribeca Festival
“Billy Joel: And that’s how it goes,” will be an HBO original two -part documentary, the opening evening film of the 2025 Tribeca Festival. CEO and co-founder Jane Rosenthal of Tribeca Festival announced the opening night programming on stage during the business show of the NAB show of entertainment event.
“For almost 25 years, the Tribeca Festival has celebrated the artists who give New York his heart and soul,” said Rosenthal. “On the opening evening of the 2025 festival we are pleased to honor Billy Joel – an artist who embodied that spirit. Hulde to the legendary artist who has captured the essence of a ‘New York State of Mind’ is a perfect way to start the celebration of creativity and inspiration this year.”
This year’s Tribeca Festival runs from 4 to 15 June in New York City, with a line -up of films, music, TV, audio stories, live talks, games and compelling programming. “Billy Joel: And so it goes,” that the festival will open on Wednesday 4 June, is described as an “extensive portrait of life and music of Billy Joel, exploring love, loss and personal struggles that feed his songwriting,” said a press release.
“With unprecedented access to never-before-seen performances, home films and personal photos, along with extensive, in-depth one-on-one interviews, the documentary intimate investigates the life and work of Joel, whose music has passed over generations,” the description continues.
“Billy Joel: and So It Goes” is co -directed and produced by Jessica Levin and Susan Lacy. ‘[Jessica and I] Could no longer be excited about our film “Billy Joel: And so it will” open the valued Tribeca festival.
