Trump Memo calls for the escalation of massive federal fired

The assessment is carried out by the White house Office of Management and Budget and the Personnel Management Office. The memo instructs agencies to collaborate with team leaders at the Elon Musk guided American Doge Service.

A number of entities are excluded from the directive, including law enforcement, border protection, national security, enforcement of immigration, public safety and the American postal service.

The memo is the last in Trump’s efforts to dramatically reduce the federal workforce, which he calls inefficient and an obstacle to his agenda. Although most fired so far have been problassary employees who are easier to give up, the Wednesday memo represents more dramatic actions that come.

Bureaus involved in the real estate sector are caught in the middle.

Trump and the Republican Party have made no secret of their contempt for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and the department was one of the first focused on the administration.

Scott Bessent, the first of the acting directors of the CFPB in the past month, ordered employees to stop working in one of his first actions after they recorded the role. Russell Vought, the architect of the controversial project 2025 plan, lasted days later and concluded the most functions and financing of the department.

A federal court has temporarily established the mass dismissals of CFPB employees until after a hearing on March 3.

The Housing and Urban Development Department (HUD) is also subject to cuts. A report earlier this month suggested that the White House is looking at a series of cuts that would lower Hud’s head count by 50%or around 4,800 employees.
