5.8 million viewers on CBS, best since 2020

The milestone 50th season of “Survivor” concluded Wednesday night with a live finale that reached 5.8 million viewers.

As measured by Nielsen, that total marks the most-watched “Survivor” finale since Season 40, subtitled “Winners at War,” which concluded in May 2020 with 7.6 million viewers. From season 41 onwards, ‘Survivor’ launched its ‘new era’ – extensively explored in Variety‘s recent cover story on the series – meaning that “Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans” reached the top finale of the new era.

Titled “Reverse the Curse,” Wednesday’s viewership rose 32% from the Season 49 finale in December and 35% from the Season 48 finale in May 2025. Compared to previous Season 50 episodes, the finale was up 20% from the week before and 17% higher than the season average of 4.9 million viewers.
