25 Years in Argentina: Delta’s Journey of Connection and Engagement | News

Delta Air Lines is celebrating 25 years of operations in Argentina, marking a milestone that reflects the airline’s longstanding commitment to the country and its role in connecting Argentina to the United States and the world.

Since launching the service in 2000, Delta has grown with the Argentine aviation market, supporting cultural exchange, tourism and business ties while building long-lasting partnerships and local teams that continue to shape the airline’s presence today.

A 25-year journey built on connection
What started as a single route has grown into an enduring presence, rooted in partnership, trust and shared growth. Over the past quarter century, Argentina has become an integral part of Delta’s strategy for Latin America, guided by a long-term vision of connectivity and cooperation.

“It gives me pride to see how Delta has grown with Argentina over the past 25 years, both professionally and personally,” said Luciano Macagno, managing director for Latin America at Delta Air Lines. “Argentina is not just a market for Delta. It is part of our history and our present. None of this would be possible without the trust of our customers, the support of our partners and the commitment of our local teams.”

Connecting Argentina to the world
Delta’s presence in Argentina is consistently focused on creating meaningful connections. Today, the airline operates daily nonstop service between Atlanta and Buenos Aires, supplemented by seasonal nonstop service between New York-JFK and Buenos Aires, giving customers multiple gateways to Delta’s global network.

Through the Delta-LATAM Joint Venture, customers in Argentina can connect to more than 200 destinations in the United States and Canada, a network expansion introduced when Argentina joined the joint venture in 2025.

“Over the past 25 years, Delta has grown not only in routes and passengers, but also in long-term relationships and shared goals with our customers and strategic partners,” said Gabriela Cioccia, regional sales manager for Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay.

The importance of aviation as a bridge between Argentina and the United States has also been emphasized by the US Ambassador to Argentina, Peter Lamelas, who

emphasized connectivity as a driver of economic, cultural and people-to-people ties between the two countries.

Marking the milestone
To mark the 25-year milestone, Delta recently gathered employees, partners and industry leaders in Buenos Aires to highlight the journey and the relationships behind it.
