World Ski Awards names the best ski tourists of 2025 | News
World Ski Awards, the only global initiative that recognises, rewards and celebrates excellence in ski tourism, has announced the winners of its 13th annual programme.
Val Thorens, Europe’s highest resort, was named ‘Best Ski Resort in the World’ in recognition of setting the global standard for lift infrastructure, resort facilities and piste-side accommodation. Stein Eriksen Lodge Deer Valley in Utah was voted ‘Best Ski Hotel in the World’ and Chalet Zermatt Peak claimed the brilliant title of ‘Best Ski Chalet in the World’. Hôtel Le Pashmina was awarded the title of ‘Best Ski Boutique Hotel in the World’ thanks to its excellent facilities and direct access to Les Trois Vallées.
In the newcomer categories, Japan’s Nikko Style Niseko HANAZONO, the first lifestyle brand of the historic Okura Nikko Hotel Group, battled newcomers from Val-d’Isère and Austria’s Tyrol to claim the title of ‘Best New Ski Hotel in the World’. Cabane Tortin – an off-grid retreat above Verbier – was named ‘World’s Best New Ski Chalet’.
The results follow a years-long search for the world’s leading brands in ski travel, tourism and hospitality. Voting was conducted by ski industry professionals and ski consumers, with the nominee receiving the most votes in each category being declared the winner.
Sion Rapson, Managing Director of World Ski Awards, said: “We are thrilled to unveil the best ski operators of 2025 – the resorts, chalets, hotels, agents and travel providers taking the global ski sector to new heights. This year’s winners reflect the dynamic nature of our industry and demonstrate an ideal blend of luxury, innovation and sustainability. We received a record number of votes from ski tourism consumers around the world – most encouragingly on the eve of the upcoming season.”
Switzerland’s LAAX, with its unlimited freeride terrain, was named ‘World’s Best Freestyle Resort’. Ski Dubai was hailed as ‘the world’s best indoor ski resort’. Leo Trippi was named ‘World’s Best Ski Travel Agent’, while Sunweb collected ‘World’s Best Ski Tour Operator’ and SkyExpress ‘World’s Best Ski Transfer Operator’.
The harmonious blend of architecture and nature has earned the rocks of LAAX the title of ‘World’s Best Green Ski Hotel’. Canada’s Northern Escape Heli-Skiing gathered ‘the world’s best heli-ski operator’. Compagnie des Alpes’ pan-European dominance was recognized with the award for ‘World’s Best Ski Resort Group’, and Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel took over the title of ‘World’s Best Ski Resort Company’.
