World Golf Awards announces best golf 2025 | News

World Golf Awards – the leading authority recognizing and rewarding excellence in golf tourism – has announced the winners of its 2025 programme.
Portugal fared well, with the sun-drenched country being named ‘Best Golf Destination in the World’ and the Atlantic archipelago of Madeira named ‘Best Golf Destination in the World’.
Sir Nick Faldo was voted ‘Golf Designer of the Year’. The six-time grand champion continues to expand his global design portfolio through Faldo Design, with current projects in Vietnam, Brazil, Pakistan and Madeira, among others.
Trump International Scotland has cemented its place among the world’s top golf destinations by winning three top prizes. The new golf course was named ‘World’s Best Golf Course’ and ‘Europe’s Best New Golf Course’, while Trump International Scotland was awarded ‘World’s Best Contribution to Golf Tourism Hospitality’.
President Donald J. Trump, 45th and 47th Presidents of the United States of America, said: “A great honor to win such a prestigious award from the highly respected World Golf Awards. I am very proud of the work Eric Trump and my team have done in building one of the best golf courses in the world. It will make people happy for a long time!”
The Algarve’s coveted new golf course, The Els Club Vilamoura, was named ‘World’s Best Private Golf Club’. The Portuguese club will organize a new tournament during the PGA Champions Tour in the summer of 2026.
The results follow a year-long search for the world’s favorite golf tourism and hospitality brands. Voting was conducted by golf industry professionals, the media and the public, with the nominee receiving the most votes in each category named as the winner.

LIV Golf Adelaide, The Grange Golf Club was recognized as ‘World’s Best Golf Event of the Year’, with 54 Limited winning ‘Golf Advisory & Operations Team of the Year’. Ireland’s Fairways and FunDays have been named ‘Best Golf Tour Operator in the World’.
Other winners included Madinaty Golf Club (‘Africa’s Best Golf Course’); Terras da Comporta – Dunas Golf Course, Portugal (the best golf course in Europe); Augusta National Golf Club, Georgia (‘the best golf course in North America’); Sentosa Golf Club – Serapong Course, Singapore (Asia’s best golf course); and Heritage Golf Club – La Réserve Golf Links, Mauritius (the best golf course in the Indian Ocean).
