WIZZ AIR JETS AS OFFICIAL AIRLINE PARTNER FOR ULTIMATE CHAMPIONSHIP | News

Wizz Air, Central and Eastern Europe’s premier airline, has been announced as the official airline partner for the inaugural World Athletics Ultimate Championship, bringing reach and momentum to one of the most exciting new events in global sport.
During the groundbreaking championship, taking place in Budapest from September 11 to 13, Wizz Air will play a central role in powering transport logistics – helping the world’s best athletes get ready to compete at the highest level.
To add to the excitement, each Ultimate Champion will receive travel vouchers, opening the door to destinations within the airline’s extensive network. The partnership was officially signed at Wizz Air’s headquarters in central Budapest.

The World Athletics Ultimate Championship will transform the athletics calendar and determine every two years which athlete is the best of the very best: world champions, Olympic champions, Diamond League winners and this year’s best performing athletes will compete against each other to crown the champion of champions.
Global Championship Event: The championship, which will start in 2026, will take place every two years and will serve as a grand finale to the athletics season.
Compact format: a three-day event, with each evening session packed with semi-finals and finals for track disciplines, and regular finals for field disciplines.
Elite Athlete Participation: Featuring 8 to 16 of the world’s best athletes per discipline, with selections based primarily on world rankings. Approximately 400 athletes from approximately 70 countries will compete, representing the pinnacle of global athletic talent.
