Will the Convergence of Agentic AI and Spatial Computing Empower Human Agency in the AI Revolution?
As the ebb and flow of the AI race continues to dominate the attention of business leaders, investors and the media, Agentic AI and Spatial Computing are among the most exciting emerging innovations that will redefine the way we interact with digital systems and our physical environment . Both marked in Gartner’s Top 10 Strategic Technology Trends for 2025For me, it is the convergence of these two technologies as they mature that I see as having clear potential to unlock capabilities across multiple sectors that will have a meaningful impact on both organizational leaders and their workforces.
Digital brains in physical domains
Even in an environment with consistent paradigm-shifting breakthroughs, Agentic AI feels like a big one, equipped with the ability to autonomously plan and execute actions to complete complex tasks assigned by a user. The technology goes beyond simple question-and-answer models to create AI “agents” capable of making complex decisions and taking action without constant human supervision. It is an important evolution led by people like Nvidia And Microsoft.
Spatial Computing, on the other hand, blurs the boundaries between our physical and digital reality. Powering technologies such as augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR) and mixed reality (MR), Spatial Computing allows us to interact with digital content in the context of our real-world physical environment.
When we put these two concepts together, there is some potential magic.
Empowerment, rather than replacing human agency
A legitimate concern that the rise of AI has brought is its potential impact on the type of human agency that has driven the industry forward for as long as it has existed. Understandably, the impending arrival of Agentic AI only adds fuel to this fire, designed to understand and deal with complex commercial and operational scenarios in a way that no technology has ever done before – but when combined with Spatial Computing I think we have a very compelling argument for improving human capabilities rather than diminishing them.
The synergy of automation and physical immersion, i.e. the convergence of Agentic AI and Spatial Computing, could and should, in my opinion, be used to create a new kind of human-machine interaction that enables human agency on ways we are only beginning to foresee. . What does this look like in practice?
Transforming processes through intelligent immersion
In healthcare, Agentic AI could power virtual assistants that guide surgeons through complex procedures, with Spatial Computing providing real-time, three-dimensional visualizations of patient data. The result? Improved precision, fewer errors and improved patient outcomes. In this specific use case, the AI agent’s discretion acts as an assistant, theoretically handling much of the qualitative and quantitative process behind a procedure, such as creating safety checklists and streamlining communications, while the human agency (the surgeon) is able to operate more efficiently and effectively.
In the field of logistics and supply chain management, Agentic AI could be used to orchestrate complex operations with minimal human intervention. These agents could have the ability to predict demand, optimize routes and manage inventory in real time. Combined with Spatial Computing, warehouse workers equipped with AR glasses can theoretically see AI-generated instructions over their environment, guiding them to the most efficient picking routes. Meanwhile, autonomous robots, powered by Agentic and Spatial AI, navigate through space to collaborate with the human workers around them.
The potential applications also extend to the creative industries. Imagine architectural firms where Agentic AI acts as a tireless design partner, generating and iterating on concepts based on specified parameters. Spatial Computing then allows architects to step into these AI-generated designs, experience and customize them in immersive 3D environments.
In manufacturing, Agentic AI could optimize production processes, while Spatial Computing allows workers to interact with digital twin machines, improving maintenance and reducing downtime.
This collaboration between human creativity and AI capabilities has the potential to be an enabler for companies that can scale and accelerate the process of system design and implementation and push the boundaries of innovation.

The convergence of Agentic AI and Spatial Computing represents more than just technological advancement. It has the potential to change the way we perceive and interact with the digital world in the workplace. For those willing to embrace the opportunities it presents, there will undoubtedly be rewards, and rather than a technology that has a clear intention to displace or replace human workers, it has far more potential to empower them.
