Widow wants control of $275 million
Before succumbing to a rare form of skin cancer in September 2023, the Margaritaville magnate gave his wife of 46 years and his longtime financial advisor shared control of his vast fortune — but she wants Mozenter removed after claiming he “failed to act responsibly and perform his duties,” according to court documents.
According to Jane’s team, Mozenter was asked to resign before the legal battle broke out.
Instead, he reportedly filed his own petition to remove Jane as co-trustee of the estate.
The financial advisor’s lawsuit claims that Jimmy had no confidence in his wife’s “ability to manage and control his assets,” which is why he was appointed executor of his estate.
But Jane claims that Mozenter is the incompetent one, mismanaging Jimmy’s vast assets.
Making matters worse, she says Mozenter allegedly behaved “unprofessionally and belligerently” toward her.
“Mr. Mozenter belittled, disrespected and condescended to Ms. Buffett in response to her reasonable requests for information,” the widow’s original filing said.
